Transpower uses demand forecasts to help:
- prepare the Annual Planning Report
- assess the value of grid investments
- develop long term grid strategies such as those included in Transmission Tomorrow.
A recent review of our demand forecasting process has led to the development of a new methodology designed to fulfil the functions above. To ensure that this process continues to be undertaken transparently and that the final forecasts are robust, we will consult each year with industry on our approach, assumptions and results.
2011/12 forecasts
We have completed long-term national and regional demand forecasts for the 2011/12 year.
