Otahuhu-Whakamaru C Line upgrade

What we're doing

As part of the North Island Grid Upgrade project, Transpower is carrying out a project to thermally uprate part of the existing Otahuhu–Whakamaru C line (from Ohinewai to Whakamaru) to increase its capacity.

Why we're doing it

This project together with the other North Island Grid Upgrade projects will help provide security of supply to the upper North Island for the foreseeable future.
