Construction finishing for winter season at Pakuranga substation

Since March, we have been constructing the new substation at Pakuranga. Over this summer earthworks season we have constructed and pre-loaded the foundation area for the new switchyard, installed half of the stormwater system including manholes, dug the foundation area for the new control building and started the new accessway.

Construction will finish in June for the winter, and we are currently spreading straw (mulching) over the slopes and exposed ground. Regular maintenance/inspection of sediment devices and the site will occur over the winter. We will start construction again in October 2010.
