Wairakei to Whakamaru Replacement Transmission Line Project

Transpower is undertaking a project to replace the existing Wairakei to Whakamaru ‘B’ line (via Poihipi Road) with a new double circuit 220 kV transmission line (similar to the one shown on the right). It is planned to have the new line commissioned in 2013.
