Under the Electricity Industry Participation Code, Transpower is required to demonstrate a net benefit for any permanent reconfiguration of the grid.

| Arapuni Grid Reconfiguration |
Transpower propose to implement a system split at Arapuni between 6am and 9pm on weekdays. The system split would be a permanent change in the way the grid is configured so we have applied the net benefit test which Transpower is required to carry out when permanently reconfiguring the grid.

| Studholme-Timaru Split Closure |
Transpower is closing the operational split between Studholme and Timaru annually between October and April. This is to reduce loss of supply to NZ Dairies Limited plant at Studholme during an outage of the main circuit supplying from the south.
