Penrose New Interconnecting Transformer

What we're doing

As part of the North Auckland and Northland (NAAN) Grid Upgrade, Transpower is installing a new 250 MVA interconnecting transformer at the Penrose substation.  The new transformer is required to meet load increases at Penrose following changes needed for other components of the NAAN project.

Why we're doing it

This project together with the other components of the NAAN project will provide sufficient capacity for the foreseeable future.

Tendering for this project (if any) will be made through either the GETS or Transpower website. Register at both these sites to be notified of any open tender release.
