Stratford–Wanganui Line Conductor Replacement

Overview

What we're doing

Transpower is carrying out a project to replace the conductor (ie wire) on its 110 kV transmission line between Wanganui and Stratford.  The new conductor will be larger in capacity than the existing one to help connect potential new generation in the region.

Why we're doing it

The need for this project is based on a condition assessment of the line, which found that the conductor was at the end of its useful life.
